ICM CARES: ECHOING GOD'S LOVE TO ASHEVILLE

The 2021 Institute of Children’s Ministry is excited to echo God’s love to a worthy non-profit in the Asheville, North Carolina area. Participants, as well as their local children’s ministries and congregations, are invited to bring items to bless the Black Mountain Home for Youth, Children, and Families.

The Black Mountain Home was opened in 1904 by Rev. Robert Perry Smith as Mountain Orphanage, when it began receiving children whose parents had died or disappeared. Today, the Orphanage serves youth from birth through college graduation and beyond through family foster care, residential care, transitional living, and independent living.

Participants are invited to bring any of the following items for our donations. The items will be collected and delivered to the Black Mountain Home from our conference. Items include:

  • Hairbrushes
  • Body wash
  • Shampoo
  • Deodorant for teens (non-aerosol please)
  • Sport type socks (boys and girls all ages)

Contact cgpkids@cogop.org if you have any questions. Thank you for helping our event make a impact in the Asheville, North Carolina area.
