Melissa MacDonald

Children's Minsitry Innovator @ Christian Missionary Alliance

Melissa grew up in a pastor’s home. Ministry was always done as a family. She graduated with her undergraduate degree from Crown College in Minnesota. From there she went on to be a children’s pastor in both Florida and Idaho. She moved from Idaho to Vienna, Austria where she was a missionary working at an international school as the Elementary Chaplain and Counselor. She received her master’s degree from A. W. Tozer Seminary. Her heart has always been to come alongside those in the trenches. Her current job as the Children’s Disciplemaking Specialist for the The Christian and Missionary Alliance  allows her to influence, lead, and partner with leaders around the world and she considers it a high and humbling honor. Melissa married her husband, Luis, in March of 2018. Being a wife and being “Auntie Mo” to her 3 nieces and nephew are her very favorite jobs. Melissa’s prayer is that she may be forgettable and Jesus may be memorable.

Passionate about the church and about kids, Melissa J. MacDonald travels extensively speaking, training, coaching, and consulting. She’s the author of Missing: An Urgent Call for the Church to Rescue Kids. Her next book will release in 2019. She currently serves as the national Children’s Disciplemaking Specialist for the Christian and Missionary Alliance denomination. With a fresh and unique perspective Melissa boldly calls the church to be The Church everywhere she goes. Melissa married her husband, Luis, in March of 2018 and she is loving the married life. She’s been to over 30 countries and seeks out the best ethnic food in every city she visits. Find out more at
